The story is set in the light of a lethargic economy where the oldest son, Tony, and his wife, Christine, have lost their livelihood and are in dire financial straits. Making an unexpected return to the Ang residence, they plot to thieve the recipe in order to survive the ordeal. Their efforts, however, are met with much resistance from Rachel, a disgruntled sister, Percy, an indolent brother, Mariah Lopez, a nosey housemaid, and Sarah, a vengeful villainess from the family’s unfortunate past. The gatekeeper of the goldmine, Mother, guards the recipe dearly for it is her last tangible reminder of the courageous love she once shared with her late husband.
